After finishing university, I didn’t realize how important having voluntary nutrition work was until I started looking for work. I would find that volunteering opportunities were few and far between. Therefore, I have decided to dedicate a page of my blog to volunteering opportunities.

St Mungos Charity-Cook & Chat volunteer in three different locations (Islington, Hackney & Lambeth). The volunteer will facilitate healthy eating cooking sessions and supporting clients to prepare & cook meals from start to finish.

Food chain-Eating Together Nutrition Assistant-King’s Cross.  Use your nutritional expertise at our Saturday Eating Together session! You’ll deliver a talk on a particular topic and lead a discussion around it. You must be a qualified Dietician or Nutritionist to volunteer in this role and have your own Public Indemnity insurance.

Blenheim-Nutritional therapist in Vauxhall . If you have or are working towards a qualification in nutritional therapy then you can volunteer with them to use and develop your skills.

Healthy Start Mentor-Ealing, Haringey and Westminster Boroughs

Healthy Start Family Mentors help parents struggling with:

• Living a healthy lifestyle on a budget
• Fussy eaters
• Feeling de-motivated and struggling to sustain changes
• Children’s challenging behaviour, especially at mealtimes

Healthy eating  volunteer-Interested in Nutrition? Would you like to support vulnerable women in your community? You could help by delivering and facilitating regular sessions promoting healthy eating, food safety and cooking skills to our residents in our supported living accommodation.

These activities would take place in Amy’s Place (Hackney) which is a partnership between the Amy Winehouse Foundation and Centra Care & Support where supported living accommodation for young women in recovery and receiving support with drug and alcohol issues is provided. They require 4 hours a week.

Nutrition group volunteer-This is at Mortlake and is for the organisation MIND. Volunteers will support service users to develop their understanding and skills in relation to cooking and nutrition, through discussion and practical tasks in a group setting.  Hours: Wednesdays 12-2pm.

Health & fitness social media and marketing intern-Via Vita Health Ltd require a dynamic and motivated intern to support their new health and wellbeing online platform and app. The aim is to get as many members using the platform and app as possible to support their fitness, nutrition and mindset goals. The internship is in Central London. It is part time with remuneration TBD.
